| I know a lot of teachers smoke. Smoking is no longer permitted in the classroom (as far as I know). So where do you go to smoke? Is there a special room/outdoor place on the school premises where it is allowed? Do students see you smoking? Do they know you have been smoking? What is your schools policy on this? |

| I don't smoke but most teachers I know that do just step outside onto the patio of the building they're in or go to the roof/street level. Most people don't care if the kids see it because a ton of K-teachers and K-adults in general smoke like chimneys around kids. |

Yeah, who cares. It's not like we are eating burgers or something. |

Why do I get the feeling the OP is an ex-smoker who recently lost a lot of weight?

Teachers are not allowed to take off their clothes in front of their students, and yet they shower every day (well, most do anyway). Teachers are not supposed to defecate in front of their students, and yet most teachers do indeed defecate....
If it isn't illegal, and it isn't done during school time, then it really isn't any of the school's business, is it? (...and yes, some teachers DO defecate during school time -- but bathroom breaks are allowed by law...or are you going to suggest that teachers that poop are poor role models, and should learn to hold it better, and thus set a better example for the incontinent children?) |

Most Koreans don't wear deodorant. As a matter of fact, if you even mention deodorant, they will laugh or mock you as a mode of self-defense, proving that you are the weird one. They don't want to talk about themselves; they only like it when they are the ones asking the personal questions! |

Sorry, on my 4th PS and smoked at all of them.
The one i'm at now even has a nice smoking room with a couch, chairs and awesome gas heater for winter. Things have gotten strict latley though, we're not supposed to smoke between 8.40 am and 9.10 am (during the rest of the day smoking is fine) for some innane reason. So the other smokers and I just go in at 8.30 for our morning fix before work |

Only High-status men are allowed to smoke ( assuming cigars as well)?
Woman aren't ANYTHING regardless of status as it's not lady-like in context. |

No, even you could smoke. And I have never seen a Korean teacher puffing on a cigar in front of students.

You need to read more. It is the key to written fluency. |

I'm still pretty sure you've never been to Korea. |

| Nah, I've never smoked (cigarettes) and my weight loss occurred many, many years ago (illness related). I was just thinking about the poor role model image that most teachers project in front of their impressionable students. If the shoe fits, wear it! |

| Try not to smoke in front of your students. I smoke pretty much every break I get. I probably smell like a smokestack because you can only brush your teeth so much. I should probably cut down on that. |
