I'm not religious but I know one of the 10 Commandments says "Ye shall not kill" / "Love thine enemy as thy self" etc., or something like that. Does that mean the SEAL(s) who pulled the trigger are destined for Hell? What about President O'bama for giving the order? I am conflicted over all of this.
How does that religious prohibition work exactly? How do religious people justify their celebrations of O'samas death? I mean, the world is probably a better place without him, but how can these religious people who are celebrating have it both ways? |

I don't know.
Do Taliban raiders razing villages and raping women in Afghanistan and Waziristan go to hell?
Do Russian soldiers slaughtering civilians in Chechnya go to hell?
I am sure there are deeply religious rebels in Libya, do they go to hell for killing Col. Qaddafi's soldiers? Syrian rebels? What about them?
I just googled your question and found this:
http://www.catholic.com/library/Just_War_Doctrine_1.asp
Why don't you figure it out? |

Maybe they repented for their killing and now look forward to an afterlife of heavenly harps.
Maybe Osama accepted Jesus just before the bullet hit him. If so, he'll be chilling with Pope John Paul 2 looking down on scum like Ghandi and the Buddha.
That'd be an awesome Heaven to check out. |

"Thou shall not kill" is a poor KJV translation.
| Quote: |
The commandment "thou shalt not kill" (found in the KJV Bible translation of Exodus 20:13), is better understood in the New King James Version Bible which states:
"You shall not murder." (Exodus 20:13, NKJV throughout)
Most modern translations of the Bible rendered it this way.
According to the Bible not all killing is murder. Murder is the unlawful taking of a human life. |

| meh. In war there's not a clear distinction between guilty and innocent. Are we all going to hell? |

Yes, but only in one of the outer rings.
Colonel Sanders, on the other hand, is going to be deep-fried. |

| It doesn't matter. If you don't accept Jesus, you go to hell. That's pretty much it folks. |

Why are you conflicted? You're not religious, and I guess lack a strong belief in a hell. So how is your conflict linked to the ten commandments? Also, O'bama isn't Irish. |

How about going to the hells of all of the other religions? Do you worry about that?

What are we talking about when we say "accept" Jesus? I'd give him a sofa for a night if he promised to keep it down but I wouldn't let him bang my 16 year-old sister.
Is there a Jesus line here? |

I heard someone say that Jesus will reveal himself to you if you call to him. For some reason he never bothered to get back to me... |

I heard Navy Seals get a pass on the "thou shalt not kill" thing because Jesus thinks they are bada$$...
However, obese people who try to teach youngsters are DEFINITELY going to hell!!! |
