I need to know whether they test for Mary jane when they draw your blood. It is legal to "medicate" in California if you have your medicinal cannabis card, which I did. I stopped "medicating" a month before coming. However, I did not consider that they might look for it in my blood. I am nervously waiting results, as I am loving it here and want to stay. Someone told me they drug test your urine, but I want to cross reference that. Not knowing is killing me. |

They do test your urine for drugs and apparently just started testing for marijuana within the last 6 months. They do not test your blood for drugs. It is a much more complicated and costly analysis.
If you stopped smoking more than 4 weeks ago you should be fine. The average range for metabolite retention in urine is 7-21 days in a heavy smoker. |

Well that's not entirely true. If you were medicating for a while, say 2 or 3 times a week for a couple of months, you're looking at about 2 months before you show up clean.
If you medicated daily for several months to a year, you're looking at at least 6 months, depending on your physical condition.
Mary can be stored in your fat cells. There for if you have a body fat % of more than 10% (10% and lower being considered athletic or very lean) then there's the possibility you could hang on to enough to test positive for anywhere between 8-10 weeks, maybe more.
If you're thin with a high metabolism, a light or moderate user could be clean in less than a month.
If your results come back on you're right on the edge of positive levels, I've heard they'll give you a week and let you test again. However, it depends on the hospital and the doctor doing the testing. He may be more relaxed and give you another try, or he may be a drug nazi and report even the slightest hint of a positive test. It's a coin toss really.
So, keep us updated. |

:sigh of relief: thank you so much. The took a weight off the shoulders.
well, to be honest, I drank a detox beverage right before I went in. I was an every day user for a long long time. Then, I stopped for two months. I picked it up again, medicating every 1-2 days for a couple of weeks, stopping on April 18th. So, I guess it even hasn't been a month.
However, on top of drinking a detox beverage, I run 5 days a week, have been drinking a lot of water, and eat really healthy. I am pretty sure I have a fast metabolism. I was eating pizza 2-3 times a week right before leaving, that's the only fat I have been getting.
I'm pretty lean. Not stick and bones, but definitely athletic.
I think I should be OK.
You better believe I am celebrating when I get my results back.
Thanks again |

Your entire post is laughably incorrect. The conventional street wisdom that marijuana metabolites are regularly detectable beyond 30 days is baseless. While a minority of cases may test positive beyond the one month period, your 6 month claim is unsupported by scientific literature.

unless you're still legally "medicating" yourself on regular basis, you should be fine
They do test everything and they are VERY thorough, but if you haven't done it in a while, it's long gone |

Everything as in blood and urine, or everything as in all drugs? |

Stop being so paranoid and read the studies I cited. The drug screen employed here is an immunoassay urinalysis. |

I need to relax, huh? lol. I am being a bit paranoid.
Thanks for your support, and moreover, citations to back it up. Immensely appreciated. |
