I want to get a Korean name seal or stamp made for a friend.

Where would I get this done? What should the price be? Can I design the "signature" for the seal, or does the seal maker just use his own font?

Anyone know about this stuff?

The seal maker has his own fonts but you can choose which one you like. I've seen some older ones that use handmade which means you can probably use your own design then. Prices vary but it depends on the quality of the stamper. There's basic wooden ones, ones with engraved handles, metal ones, etc. You can guess which ones are the more expensive ones. I paid only 40,000 for mine and i got a more ornate version. If you want the seal to be officially binding you need to register the seal at your "Gu" office. You can find seal places randomly at different places. Just look for the seal thing as a sign outside.

You will also find a kiosk in places like Home Plus or E-mart that cut keys and make the stamps as well.
