I'm currently on vacation in the USA. I turned my iphone 4 to airplane mode. If I turn on just the wifi, and use my hotel's free Wi-Fi...can they charge me for that? I don't see how it can roaming...it's the hotel's free wi-fi. |

You'll be OK to use wifi abroad but turn data roaming off. |

How do I do that? Is that the same thing as turning on airplane mode? |

Go to: Settings -> General -> Network -> Data Roaming
Airplane mode turns off phone/data reception, wifi and bluetooth, I believe. |

You can use Wi-Fi anywhere you get a connection; as long as your data roaming is turned off, you won't pay anything. You're not using your phone's 3G network, so why would you pay? |
