I am from Maryland as well. At least, I lived there for a few years right before coming to Korea. My wife is also from MD. |

That is the issue I'm confronting - well at least the tax part of it.
Damn, you can't just show you've got health care from somewhere else?
If you don't mind my asking, what are you getting dinged each tax year for taxes and/or "health coverage"?
I honestly feel we've turned a strange corner on something at the state level. I guess I'm dating myself, but in the past, of course you should have paid taxes if you were a resident, but I don't recall the feeling of "hot pursuit" by any state like now. One "agent" in the taxation department said I had to "belong" to a state. I think another used the term "owned" by a state.
I guess we're "free" from the land as long as we pay the masters. I used to be a left of center liberal on the issue but times have changed. |
