My husband and I got a cat, thinking we would be in Korea for a few years, but things changed and we won't be staying.

We've looked into taking him with us to Taiwan, and we would really love to, but the transport and quarantine would be really hard on him (three weeks AT LEAST).

So, here are his stats:

His name is Steve.

He is brown striped, with white feet and a mask on his face.

He is box trained.

He weighs about 10-12 lbs (maybe, that's just a guess)

He is very sweet and loving.

If you know ANYONE who might want a very, very sweet, super cute cat, please let them know about him!

Rehoming the cat will cause the same stress as the travel and quarentine. Just take him with you.

It is likely the cat will get re-homed again wiht whoever takes him from you.

I agree with the poster above...if you do have the option of taking him with you you really should. 3 weeks in quarantine isn't a long time, especially considering they used to have 6 month quarantine for pets moving to to UK. And even though it may cause him stress in the short term, the fact he will be with the people he has grown to love for the long term will be far better for him than rehoming him to another foreigner who will inevitably end up rehoming him again once he/she decides to leave.

On a different note, as I am an avid pet lover and owner of my own cat for the past 14 years, I do have to add that if you had no real intention of keeping him for life then you really shouldn't have adopted him in the first place. As they say...a pet is for life, not just for christmas... Would you put your baby up for endless adoption? I should hope not...a pet is just the same. I really hope you will take him with you if you possibly can, even if it might be somewhat expensive. If not, then I really hope for Steve's sake that he will find a loving home for good this time...though unfortunately in Korea this is not that likely. And whatever you do don't put him in a shelter... last I heard animals get put down after 10 days if they're not rehomed because there are far too many homeless animals in Korea that nobody wants to take care of Sad

Good Luck Steve!

She's so cute. Does she shed much? I have a small problem with hair but if the cats don't shed much then I don't have an allergy.
