The OP doesn't have a full month of vacation. His school has scheduled the week's vacation for him and, in line with what happens for all the Korean teachers, the rest of the time during the break is treated as "preparing lesson materials at residence." What the OP wants to do is tell his school (who, by the way isn't the actual employer; it's the Provincial or Metropolitan Office of Education) that he's going to bail out after the break. The school will be absolutely within their rights, and the contract, to require the OP to appear at the school for desk-warming or a "camp" arranged at the last minute.

OP: You're not painting yourself in a good light here. How long will your wife be working in Seoul? If it's just a few months and then she's moving back to where you live now, the optimal solution is to wait for that. If she's going to be working there for a few years, then you could wait a few months to join her.

What's dishonest--yes, that's what your plan is--is to sneak a month off from your P/MCOE and then flee.

By the way, don't think for a minute that your school's not going to inform the Office of Education about your stunt the second you drop that bomb on them.

Another by the way. You seem to misunderstand government budgeting. The school won't be taking any money from you if your employment ceases before the six month mark as you will not have earned that allowance. Also, the school can't fire you just for kicks. You do have the support chain that hagweon teachers don't. Really, the school can't fire you. They can only recommend to your actual employer (Office of Education) that you be fired and for that they need a valid reason.
