Has anyone here ever worked for Yonsei FLI? I was just offered a position for July and I could use some extra information. I have my Masters in Linguistics/TESL with a little over a year of Uni teaching experience and I am hoping to someday land an Uni job in Korea.

I have heard mixed reviews about the institute, but could the name 'Yonsei' and working with older learners might help strengthen my resume? As I said, I don't think I stand a much of chance of finding an September start Uni job, so I'm trying to decide if I should wait, take this position, or just continue interviewing at hagwons.

Also- once I say 'yes' and somehow am fantastically lucky enough to get a Uni offer, I don't think I can just go back on a signed contract, right?

Also, how to people go from hogwan to university/EPIK if the hiring season conflicts with a current contract?

I think the major selling point with it is the language program. If you want to study Korean and don't mind the split shift then it's a great way to do that.

Give your one month's notice and leave the country for a few days of rest before getting a new visa.

The language is nice, but the new contracts make it so you can't start the lessons untill you have been there for 6 months

The regular program is 4 hours a day 5 days a week and the teachers say in order to pass you have to study another 4 hours a day.... if you are working too that is a really heavy load

If you add in a normal teaching schedule at FLI

7:00-8:30am

9:30 - 11:30am

12:00 - 1:00pm

1:30 - 5:30 KOREAN CLASS

7:00 - 9:00pm

it is a crazy hard schedule to actually put effort into your classes
