Ok. So the time has come. And I really wish I were back in the US for this momentous occasion, however Korea will have to do.

I am looking for ideas for my bachelor party. My foreigner mates are helping me plan things, but I want to get some ideas from you all, particularly those of you that have done this in Korea.

Now, while I won't be engaging in anything too immoral, I do wish they had clubs where we could go and enjoy some, ahem, live entertainment. Is there anything to be done that would provide the same level of entertainment without resorting to a certain famous hill? That is out of the question.

Also, other ideas or suggestions that may be a little higher class than going to Hongdae for a club night are welcome.

Please, spare me the negative criticism about morals. I don't really care what you think.

I'd suggest Gangnam, but then you will pay through the nose for whatever you want (fun in the company of ladies)

Went to this bar- it catered to men that just wanted to have a drink with hot girls. Didn't go there often, as it was expensive as hell- and you have to keep ordering stuff to keep the girls' attention Embarassed Forgot the name but I'm POSITIVE you can find one in your area if Gangnam is too far/too much.

ahh i think i know what you are talking about, i see them in suwon, some call them angel bars, or sexy bars. basically you are in the presence of a woman, and you pay for 5 shots about 40,000 won. apparently it must work because they dont close down haha

I'm 99% sure what you guys are talking about. Be warned, not all of them will let foreigners in

An Aussie buddie put together a kick-arse bachelor party for an English friend or ours. He had t-shirts made up, and on the back was a 'score card' with bar names and places for your score at each individual bar. There were a ton of guys there. He paired up dudes who probably didn't know each other too well so that we could all meet some new people.

The theme was 'bar golf'. Each bar had a different drink with an assigned 'par' (number of slugs to put the drink down). Everyone got a marker and your partner scored your shirt for you. At the end of the tournie, winners were announced, etc. I think we played nine 'holes', some dive bars, some pretty nice. Some people went off to seek the additional, optional entertainment, but most were too pickled to bother. Many just ended up hanging out en masse and having a stogie or playing bar sports.

Huge success.

That actually sounds like a lot of fun to me. It's also good because the groom isn't forced to do anything compromising (if he doesn't want to). Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

It wasn't boring by any stretch of the term. Plus, once you're past the age of 16, watching porn with a bunch of guys is pretty lame. I've been to a load of bachelor parties, including some pretty raunchy ones when I was in the Army and some 'high end affairs' at 5 star hotels and the like. The Bar Golf went over better as you were out and about a bit.

Another option, probably better for a much smaller crew, would be to hit the casino or a bar with a private room in which to play some poker or blackjack, then go to a top shelf pub for drinks, then to an -ahem- establishment on the nicer side. If you don't have Korean buddies or someone in the know, though, you could get really raked over the coals.

Like the other poster said, different strokes for different folks...interesting thread...

Obviously I have no idea what budget we are talking but if all of you could "swing" a Friday off work why not jump in a plane to a big Japanese city for a couple of nights, home on Sunday. Might be nice to visit somewhere different, new bars etc

Edit: Osaka has a massive 5 story strip joint. You pay a set fee to get in and that includes booze and snacks. You can pay for just one floor or for access to all 5 floors. We never actually went cause we ran out of cash but if memory serves it worked out as 60 for one floor (so around 100,000 Won). It's pretty famous so with a bit of googling you'll find loads of info

Yea, Japan would be awesome and money is not really a concern; it's a once in a lifetime event. However, not everyone will be able to up and head out of the country. I wish.

The bar golf wouldn't really be my cup o tea. But, I do thank you all for giving me your suggesstions.

Cheers!
