Specifically I'm wondering about the transcripts that are required. I've finished all the requirements for my degree but my degree will not physically in my hands until May 25.
My recruiter has been setting up interviews for this week assuming I would be ready to start working late June.
So heres the problem, when I requested my transcript copies, there were 2 options "As of todays date" or "After spring convocation". The difference between the two is the latter will say "Degree awarded" and the former will just have all of my grades etc. The administration at my university is telling me I can't get the transcripts that say "degree awarded" until about 10 days after I've actually gotten my diploma. I can however include a letter from my university saying that I have completed the requirements for my degree.
Can anyone tell me if this would be acceptable? I had agreed to send my documents to the Korean Consulate for the Apostille no later then May 27'th. Will I have to wait until I get the post convocation transcripts? They will have my original degree plus a notarized copy after all.
I've already got the rest of my documents ready to go. Was hoping to get my degree on the 25'th, get a notarized copy that day, and have everything in the mail the following day.
What do you folks think I should do? I'm trying to get this done ASAP, I've already interviewed for position that would be a great fit for me, but if I have to wait for those transcripts it might totally wreck the timing!
Thanks in advance for any sugggestions |

Speak to your recruiter.
I think that by suggesting that you send in the "as of todays date" transcripts + the letter from the university saying you will be receiving your diploma and final transcripts later would work on an original basis.
It should be good enough to have a copy of your degree notorized by the consulate (as they can always check with the university either way).
Once you can get the transcripts though, I would send those over.
For the VISA issuance, the final ones are probably what they'll want to see.
This would allow the process to continue with all caveats explained; but the best placed to answer would be either your recruiter, or better yet the Korean consulate/embassy in your region. |

Yes I called the Korean Embassy in Montreal and they said that the transcripts I have are fine for authenticating my degree, but I would need the updated one's with the term "Degree awarded" printed on it to get my actual visa. So Moon your were perfectly right! Thanks!
Another thing they told me that I found interesting was that I did not need to get my CBC notarized, I could just send the original, hmmm. I was quite sure I needed to do that. I guess I should just do what they tell me then right? |

Your CBC needs to be "certified" by the Korean consulate that you are dealing with. Do what they ask in regards to getting it certified. If it is the original (as required) it usually won't need to be notarized before the consulate certifies it.
