Visa expires 9/28, my contract expires 9/30, I plan on leaving 10/4. Do I need to get a new visa issued or will they let me out of country without problems? |

Definitely do that ^, instead of possibly facing problems at the airport. Shouldn't take too long at all and they'll be more than happy to extend for that amount of time. |

If you have an ARC your visa is not relevant. The exit date is the one on your ARC.
you have 3 choices:
a) Leave BEFORE your ARC expires.
b) take your ticket to immigration and get an extension (it is free)
c) overstay your ARC and deal with the fines and future problems (you will probably never work in Korea again).

You can change your status from E-2 to visitor for free online, but technically you are prohibited from working.
