Anyone else use it? It has been a real downer for us. There is an online homework component that was sold to us as making our lives easier, but it has been the opposite experience. Huge setup time and learning curve. Far more work, and by the time we realized that most of what we thought was taught in class (book material) was actually just a photocopy of what was online homework, it was too late. That left us with having to pull most of the class out of our butts while being confined to the boring Pearson material and topics.

What is worse, the students are just clicking through the online assignments quickly (cheating/sharing answers) and retaining little. There are options for more teacher graded assignments online, but hey arent feasible given the number of classes I have.

Very few useful speaking exercises.

Anyone else stuck in this nightmare?

I haven't used Northstar books in some time, but I've never been a big fan. I don't like the design. I find the topics dull. I find the structure consistent, but so blatantly consistent that it becomes mind-numbingly repetitive.

The skill-building books for TOEFL students are better than standard test-prep books, but, again, somewhat repetitive.

I've used the general English ones from pre- to advanced as well.

Don't like them one bit.
