Does anyone or has anyone heard the rumors that SMOE wants to phase out foreign teachers in high schools and in particular technical high schools? Last workshop I went, they mentioned something about how its not seen as effective and want to concentrate on middle and elementary schools
Can anyone add to this?
I got notice from my school, I can stay as long as I want but, there won't be an FT to replace me. |

that blows chunks.
I was hoping to take a sabbatical at home, get my MA, return to Korea and teach HS. What was the reason they gave for phasing out the NET? |

Not effective and no standardized curriculum like middle schools and elementary schools. They didn't blame FTs for that though, noticed in public there's a lot FT bashing. Behind closed doors, they tend to be more honest and neutral about things.
That's what I heard though, I don't know if it's true, that's why I'm posting. |
