Does anyone or has anyone heard the rumors that SMOE wants to phase out foreign teachers in high schools and in particular technical high schools? Last workshop I went, they mentioned something about how its not seen as effective and want to concentrate on middle and elementary schools

Can anyone add to this?

I got notice from my school, I can stay as long as I want but, there won't be an FT to replace me.

that blows chunks.

I was hoping to take a sabbatical at home, get my MA, return to Korea and teach HS. What was the reason they gave for phasing out the NET?

Not effective and no standardized curriculum like middle schools and elementary schools. They didn't blame FTs for that though, noticed in public there's a lot FT bashing. Behind closed doors, they tend to be more honest and neutral about things.

That's what I heard though, I don't know if it's true, that's why I'm posting.
