Yeah... o well. I guess I'll be sticking with mine either until its over or I go back home (fully paying it off first obviously) haha... |

I'm just wondering if anyone else with the SGS2 has noticed that their display seems to be a bit "soft"? Compared to my SGS1 the same pictures look sharper and the text seems a bit sharper too in the texting app on the SGS1. The browser and other apps just seem to be slightly softer on the 2 as well. I know it won't look as good on a larger display but I can't help but think something is a bit off. I've yet to come across another SGS2 user in the wild that I knew so I can compare mine to theirs.
Still other than that minor gripe this thing is a grand slam. |

It supports HSPA+ which has been defined as 4G officially. 4G is really one of those BS marketing terms that has different meanings to different networks. The big American carriers are to blame for this mass confusion about what 4G really is.
Either way, the Galaxy 2 is "4G" equipped. |

...thanks for the information.
The Olleh commercials here in Korea keep advertising 4G...and with people on here using the new GS2, I was curious if anyone was connected with Olleh using 4G.
Some of my students at the university have the GS2 but have told me that 4G is not an option yet?
They are using 3G, and it seems really fast with the GS2.
So, I am trying to piece together what this 4G/3G stuff is all about.
I don't know much on the tech side of smart phones...so any information related to this is useful at this point. |

Wrong. HSPA+ IS NOT 4G. 4G has an official definition, and NO technology currently available meets those standards.

This is true. The companies are saying their current tech is 4G just so it looks better to the average consumer. "OOOOHHH, they have 4G which MUST be better than 3G." |

| Either KT or SK, whoever have stock. KT are more expat friendly though and i'd recommend them. You may have to go into a waiting list though. |

I would actually say SK is more user friendly (from my experience) and there's a waiting list. While I was waiting for my SK S2, I saw many KT ones behind the counter. |

I'm having my first real problem with my Galaxy S2.
This all happened a few days ago, all the problems came at the same time.
- Windows fails to correctly load the USB device, so I cannot access as a USB drive or connect to Kies (it previously did from both of my computers), it will still charge over USB however
- When off, the phone indicates that it is plugged in and charging
- Also when off, it randomly turns itself back on after 10 seconds - a few minutes
- The battery life fluctuates, it will say I'm at 94% when I swap batteries then it will slowly start to climb up to about 97% before starting to fall, it never used to do this. Also the battery is draining faster than before.
I haven't installed any new apps or software in a while so I don't think there's a virus/malware issue.
I'm running 2.3.3. I haven't updated the firmware in a few weeks but it ran fine after the last update. Also I have tried both batteries, multiple micro usb cables etc. Either the micro usb connector is somehow damaged or there's some software corruption. I tried to update the firmware remotely but it told me I already had the latest firmware.
Anyone else have these issues with the phone?
Because of work I won't be able to make it into the service centre until next Saturday, I guess I'll just have to deal until then and hope it doesn't explode. |

| Sounds like a hardware problem. Do a factory reset (IT will make you do it anyway) and if that doesn't fix the problem bring it to a samsung service center. |

| I thought about a hardware reset, but I'm not thrilled with the prospect of having to reinstall and re-configure everything. It was very tedious when I did it a few months ago going from my Galaxy S to the SII and took days for me to have everything just right again. The service centre usually tries to reflash the firmware first before doing a reset. My hope is that they do that and preserve everything. If not I guess I have no choice but to lose everything... ugh. |

Astro file manager is supposed to be able to back everything up (from what I've heard.) |
