I have already extended my ARC for a month, so legally it seems okay. But do I need a new contract for this? They want me to work 3 more weeks because the next teacher will arrive late. I just want things to be legit. Any advice? |

I would think extending an ARC card would include presenting something to immigration that indicated both sides agreed to do this. Otherwise, they wouldn't just extend it because you asked them to.
How did you extend your ARC card? Did you go by yourself or with the school? |

Was it an extension of departure or an extension of sojourn? The first allows you to stay longer, but not work. The latter allows you to stay and work longer in korea. You need to be sure which one you did. If the extension was done without a contract for the extra month, it is likely an extension of departure (no working allowed). Call 1345 and find out which one you have. |

Well, I had to extend the ARC because my contract ended 5 days after my original ARC expiration. They stamped a date with 30 extra days though, so I'll call and check. Thanks for the advice. |

If your visa already has enough of an extension, you should be good to go.
No need for a contract or anything.
But it is best to call immigration and get it right from them. |

The month extension usually only allows you to be here as a tourist, make sure you don't drop yourself in it if this is the case and you tell immigration you have been working. |
