I hate to complain about a rainy weekend while the Eastern US is experiencing massive flooding, but I'm shallow, so whatever.
Why is it that M-R are always so sunny and nice (today for instance). And then Friday rolls around and the rain begins to fall, usually until sometime Sunday. I can't be the only one noticing it.
I also remember some scientists claiming that we're the reason this happens. People drive more and pollute more during the week causing aerosol to collect in clouds. Aerosol is what moisture sticks to and eventually the clouds burst....just in time for weekend trips or shenanigans.
No real outcome in this thread other than venting. |

I've read about this before, too. Combined with natural phenomena (like the warmer weather coming in spring combined with extra moisture from melting snow and wind from the change in thermals), and we get some predictable rain.
Remember you're griping in a few months when it's balls hot out and all you want is for a nice, cool rain! |

It's not like it doesn't rain here in the summer, it's just balls hot and rainy. |

Better than being unbelieably hot. I'll take rainy and humid over sun scorched and humid any day.
I don't know why people feel like their lives are ruined when it rains. Maybe that's just because I feel no special connection to the outdoors and every free hour I get I don't try and go outside? I dunno, hiking or taking a walk outside just seems... well, boring. I'm all for like, playing a game of basketball, but just going outside to be outside for me has no real allure, so if it rains on a weekend, whatever, it's not like I spend all my time in the middle of a field or something. I spend most of my time on the weekends away from home inside a bar or indoors somewhere. No big deal.
edit: Also find an inside hobby. |

summer heat isn't an issue in Korea. It doesn't get much above 90, even at the height of summer. However, the humidity will drive you nuts, and if you work/live on an upper floor in any Korean building and have insufficient air conditioning, summer is best spent outside of Korea.
also imagine a gym on the top floor of a building with very big windows all around which soak up the sun's rays all day long, even if shielded with pull down screens. That's some bad bad medicine my friends. |

On another slightly related note, spring lasted how long... 1 month? Summer now seems to last 4 months. This week in the mid-to-upper 20's in Seoul, and it's only May. Will this summer be worse than last year's? Last year was dreadful... ugh. |

nah it's still spring. The air isn't humid yet. a high of 80 degrees F with no humidity isn't problematic at all. The trouble begins when the humidity seeps into the air and the nighttime lows creep up above 62-63 F.
then it's time to get the ________ out of here.
Should happen around end of June or so. and yes, last year's summer sucked to royal high heaven. Absolutely atrocious. |
