Has anyone had any problems flying into Korea one way without a work visa? I hear it's usually the airline that gives you a hassle. I'd probably be flying air canada.

thanks

yes, my brother got stopped by an airline in Malaysia when coming in with a one way ticket. he had a mad rush to buy a ticket out of the country to be able to check in. have heard other people who seem to get away with it though so it might be dependent on the airline and a bit of good/bad luck.

I've flown in one-way twice now. Once by Asiana and once by Thai Airways. No problems with the airlines or immigration either time. However, if it'll help you sleep better, Air Busan will sell you refundable one-way tickets to Japan.

I just told them I was taking the train down to Busan and the ferry to Fukuoka, backpacker style, and didn't back down. I also carried financial statements showing that I had the funds to survive for awhile in country.

If you are flying Air Canada you can expect problems trying to get in on a one way ticket and no visa (they are absolutely anal about it).

You may be right there ttom, but I have flown Air Canada a few times and they never once questioned my one way ticket. Had visa though, for China, so, maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.
