Hi,
SMOE here.
Started last month.
Got my first payslip this week. No tax was deducted. My co-teacher said that the people in my office said that they have to research the tax law between Ireland and Korea so they will deduct my tax at the end of the year.
My co-teacher also said that the office people said that my bill at the end of the year will be around 150,000 as that is what a Korean on similar salary to me pays.
I find this VERY HARD TO BELIEVE. Surely it must be more than that?
I do not want to be faced with a massive tax bill at the end of the year. I don't like surprises.
So, on a salary of 2 million per month, what should I be paying in taxes?
Also, anyone here do after classes? What do you get paid per class/hour?
Thanks for reading. |

i am canadian and we dont have a tax treaty either. you should be paying at least 30,000W per month to avoid a bill at the end. |

Hey.
Thanks for your reply.
So, on a salary of 2 million, I should be paying around say, 30,000 to 50,000 tax per month?
If that's the case, I can deal with that. I just don't want to end up having to pay a grand or 2 at the end of the contract. |
