Hmm, guess it just depends your luck. I worked with JJ before and had a good experience. |

Depends on my luck? It's not a lottery it is a job application that obliges recruiters to work for the money they earn by recruiting teachers.
Joanna from JJ recruiting is a very nice woman, but she does not know what she is doing and she is in between jobs. As a real teacher I wouldn't be wasting my time applying through them. It's ok if you are a young back packer teacher cruising around Asia for a lay in bed with women and a lay on the beach, but I take my job seriously and would expect recruiters to take their job seriously too. She was willing to place me in any BS private school when I made a specific request for certain schools meeting my needs. That is what a recruiter does, work for a school management's needs by recruiting teachers that request certain matters be met.
Besides I travel work and teach, not backpack and teach. That's the problem with EFL, the bar has been lowered by people that know nothing about teaching, and we real teachers have to accept the same rubbish. Is it any wonder Teaching is more like soft porn than educating? DUH!
Update. Considering JJ recruiting has re-advertised that they are seeking candidates for GEPIK makes me upset. Joanna told me the GEPIK program was closed to them for the year. Really closed for the year is it? GEPIK recruits all year and so too does IMOE, yet she could not secure a teaching position for me in a public school. And this was after the detailed explanation I submited to her for a school to consider. Frankly my experience with them is that they are Ageist. Experience comes with wisdom and wisdom comes with Experience. And according to Educational theory, the longer a teacher Instructs, they better they become. Older teachers make outstanding examples for younger Teachers, based on theory and practice. But for JJ recruiting it appears youthful looks are more important. I am in my mid forties but look like a late 30 year old. Don't be fooled Older teachers. An older teacher is a better qualified teacher. Appearances can be deceiving. Perhaps management of JJ recruiting would like to apply my ''Wisdom'' quote to their recruiting principles.

| Out of curiosity, has anyone had any good or bad experiences with Match Recruiting? I'm going through a number of recruiters looking for a school, and my friend recommended YBM ECC, who I've also been talking to, and I was just looking for another source of intel. |

K***** screwed up everything about my first assignment - they told my school I'd be able to start a week BEFORE my contract began. I had reservations at a guesthouse and a vacation planned, which I had to cancel. I'd no sooner gotten off the plane when they were begging me to make them not look bad with the school. I was sick and had to attend the orientation week of my new school with a fever, and without compensation. THEN they had a sweetheart deal with the school district NET coordinator which effectively screwed me out of half my airfare. It took me half a year and threat of lawsuit to get my money from them.
Jason at ASKNOW.ca is awesome.

Everybody knows about MORNING CALM. Avoid Morning Calm as if they were the plague! Apparently theyve been under investigation by at least two embassies for about 6 months that I know of.
Natalia Kim likes to blame things on "communication" or "cultural" differences. Minor things mostly. Such as 40 hour work weeks versus 25 hours, or 1.8 million won versus 2.7 million won. Paid housing, actually means that YOU PAY for it, nothing too serious. Just any and all information that is essential and required to make an informed and educated decision regarding employment. |
I can see why there are so many negative reviews on here! Smoke, Fire, Hello?
