Quick question: If I had my recruiter send all of my documents into the EPIK Provincial Office of Education of my desired location on Tuesday, May 24, then when can I expect an interview? Many recruiters are closing up on taking new applicants after May 27 because spots are filling up and I'm a bit nervous. I have a good resume and my recruiter said we should get an interview appointment within a week, but I am wondering...some of the EPIK topics on this board mention 3 weeks' wait time.
It's ATC, by the way, the first listed recruiter on <http://www.epik.go.kr> IT seems legit, so should I trust the woman when she says we will get an interview request within a week and not "if you get requested for a interview..."?
Thanks |

Is there anyone who has gone through EPIK who can shed some light here? The only schools I've done before were mid-semester emergency jobs where the school needed someone ASAP and did direct hires. I know next to nothing about this and so many websites have conflicting info |

Hi there, I sent off my application around the beginning of May, I think it was the 7th and I didn't get an interview until the 27th. However, I girl I know submitted her application a week after me and she got her interview before me.
I'm not sure how it works with the recruiter and EPIK, some might be more efficient than others getting the application to EPIK.
I've read that some people have had to wait 2-3 weeks, some 3-4 weeks so I think it just depends. I hated playing the waiting game mate so I know how you feel. |

Thanks for the response. I suppose I am just worried about whether to jump ship or not. I am looking at other options which I do not like, but which will need a response relatively soon.
I'm sure I'll ace the interview, but if the interview never comes, I don't want to be stuck without a job--I especially don't want to start something after mid-August.
If I do a contract, I need a full year to get bumped to the next salary level, but the only way to get back on track with the August/September hiring period is to ditch a job early if that job started in Sept/Oct. OR....I would be constantly limited to jobs that started after the mass hiring periods. (Staying with the same job is not really an option if the job/area doesn't fit me since I have plans to study at graduate school in Korea one of these years and would like to be able to really save up $ or get some roots in a city I like.)
I miss that blind excitement I had in 2008. |
