For the FBI CBC, I've read that it must be a federal apostille done in D.C., but do any State Department's do apostilles that are recognized at the federal level? Or is that too risky to try?
Also, it isn't necessary to have a federal apostille for the diploma correct? You just need to get it apostilled in the same state it was notarized in? (not necessarily the same state the diploma was received in). EDIT- I just read on the NY Secretary of State website that the ONLY apostille documents released in New York State..
But if I'm sending the CBC to DC anyway, is it okay to just send the diploma along with it? Will DC apostille the diploma? I'm already in Korea so if the mailing is together it's a bit easier.
Finally, are the transcripts still required? I've been reading some conflicting statements saying they are and they aren't.
Thanks in advance. |

This is what you need:
College Degree
Diploma
CBC
Go to your local notary public and they will make official copies and have them notarized. Send those to where ever your apostille is (apostilleinfo.com), being from VA, mine was in Richmond. Within two weeks they will mail them back with an apostille. |
