You know, there are other alternatives to Phuket. Have you considered Koh Chang?

My first Southern Thailand trip was to Phuket and PhiPhi and loved it. Last time I went to Koh Samui and was very disappointed. I'd be open to Koh Chang, or maybe Krabi? How do they compare?

never been to boracay, so I can't say..
I have been to phuket and found it dirty and over rated. that was before the tsunami though maybe its all been refurbished.
but phuket is HUGE so a lot more to do.. anyway you have to see them both one day so just do what ever suits you best ...
