| Hi guys. So I just got my FBI check and I was surprised to see that it had listed the time I was wrongfully arrested. It was noted that the charges were dismissed in the interest of justice, but I'm worried that schools will see an arrest and automatically reject my application. Does anyone have any experience with this? It seems that an arrest with charges dropped shouldn't be held against anyone, let alone when the charges were dropped in the interest of justice and when the arrest shouldn't have been made in the first place, but still I'm worried it will be held against me. If anyone has any info let me know. Thanks. |

If your FBI check says anything other than "no derogatory record/comment" it will be held against you.
It is not up to Kimmi to figure out the US justice system. Like the US immigration service they have also adopted a simple blanket policy, "any finding = denial".
China would be your next best option.

But it is up the individual to find out how to get this removed. I would contact lawyers and find out if there is a way to get this removed. Maybe it won't amount to much but at least you will know and maybe they will tell you a time to wait for it not be added (maybe 1-3 years). You won't know until you ask. |

| Anything on your FBI check means summary rejection. That's the way it works in Korea. By the way, while you're looking to get that taken off your FBI record, you might want to find a lawyer for a false arrest lawsuit, particularly the way things are working out for you now. |

Except there are people here who have things on their records and are able to get through immigration. It really depends on which consulate you're going through. |
