An unidentified virus affecting pregnant or recently pregnant women in South Korea has claimed a second fatality in just a few weeks.

A 36-year-old pregnant woman died Thursday morning, Xinhua reports, nearly 15 days after the same virus registered its first fatality.

Earlier this month, another woman died due to the still unknown virus, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported. She was also pregnant when first hospitalized.

The government quickly quelled fears about the virus earlier this month, saying it was unlikely to spread. At least eight people in all are said to be affected by the virus. Though the vast majority are women, a 40-year-old man was also infected, per CNN.

Symptoms for the mystery virus have included cold or flu-like symptoms, cough and difficulty breathing, according to TIME.

And in 20 years we'll be living that movie..what's it called where he has to escort the only pregnant woman to the sea because a mysterious virus made all the women infertile? Or maybe in a couple weeks we'll find out that this virus that killed those two people has reanimated them and now they're walking zombies...didn't that religious fanatic say he got the apocalypse date wrong and it's in December? Twisted Evil

Mystery virus kills pregnant women...

I can see some types booking their trip to S.Korea right now so they can get out of child support and get rid of the person they are stuck with.

Uh oh...a 3rd woman dies.

Unlike other cases of pneumonia, this virus is unusual because it has infected healthy, young pregnant women and killed them in a very short period of time, according to health authorities.

I'm still waiting for them to find a way to blame this on us.

I can see it now... "The women had been visiting potential schools for their future children. The schools reportedly have foreign teachers working in them. One foreign teacher had reportedly coughed while in proximity to one woman. Authorities have since quarantined the suspect teachers and are drawing their blood for tests. Results are pending, but health advisors suggest to take extra precaution around those of foreign origin until the source of this alien virus can rightfully be attributed to them."
