How do I remove AhnLab V3 Internet Security 7.0 Platinum Enterprise & Smart Update Utility from my pc at school. I hate it. Every time I go into the settings to turn off the daily scans under the scheduler, it turns it back on the very next day. So, I installed Nod32 but I can't uninstall Ahnlab. It keeps reinstalling after I uninstall it. I even went under Program Files and manually deleted all the files and folders but it reinstalled itself again when I turned on my pc this morning. |

It would seem that your school network has a function to auto-install Ahnlab on its computers......leaving you with no options as far as I can see.
This is Korea! The consensus is to use XP/IE/Ahnlab......99% of Koreans don't know or care that there are any other options. |

Without an admin password for the Ahn program, you may be SOL. Ahn has this install option to embed itself like that. I reinstalled windows, then added an admin password and firewall to keep it from ever returning to my work machine. The firewall keeps the network Exciter program from reinstalling it too. I use Zonealarm free and block Exciter.
Only other choice is to hack the registry, but I dont know what or where. That would be dangerous if you dont know how.
Ahn is practically malware itself. |

You are probably just not completely removing it.
Download http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
and let it remove the program. also, when it asks, make sure to wipe the program from the registry as well. That should get rid of any leftover code telling it to re-download itself. |

Revo is one of the uninstallers that I downloaded from Cnet and tried. It works fine but all of the files are still found under "program files". That's is why I manually deleted them and then reran Revo to remove the registry entries. But when I came back into school this morning it was reinstalled on my pc. So I re-manually deleted the files, but this time I removed the files that were in "C:/" instead of only "C:/Program Files/Ahn Lab" & "C:/Common Files/Ahn Lab" (I might have misspelled some files names, I rarely use the command line) and find out tomorrow if these remaining leftover files were the source of the reinstall.
I had the same problem when I had McAfee on one of my older pc's in the States, it quit working on me and I installed Kaspersky in its place (which I then replaced with Nod32 2 weeks later). The uninstall files under Mcafee & Windows XP Remove Software weren't working and I had to manually uninstall them in order to get the non-working McAfee from running at startup (turning it off under Msconfig wasn't working). |

they have probably screwed it up over the years with installing various anti virus programs.
Let revo run and take out any program that you dont recognized. If that doesnt work, I would ask for the install discs and do a clean windows install. |

I had the exact same problem, and Revo didn't solve it for me. I eventually just created a partition on the hard drive and installed an English version of XP. |

i had troubles with this too. Uninstall it. then when it tries to reinstall itself go into task manager and kill the process. it won't be fully installed and it won't run and it won't try to reinstall itself. |

If all else fails reinstall windows.
You can also use COMODO firewall, it'll block EVERYTHING. I mean, everything. If you set it on high sensitivity it'll ask what to do for every niggling thing coming through the network, when you see notices for Ahnlab just set it to deny. Done. |

when it is in the process of reinstalling itself you should see the program running and just kill that. I don't think you need to go to the process list. just the list of programs running and click on end task. |

I had similar experiences to the other people in this thread. I tried to uninstall Ahnlab, but it reinstalled automatically. Then I contacted Ahnlab and they said the only way to get rid of it was to contact my uni administrators. I reinstalled Windows and made sure to never install it again and my computer has been running flawlessly for 2 years since. |
