Wow, you guys really need to deal with a better crop of phone sales people.

The high 800-900k prices they're quoting you are FACTORY prices. You of course get a subsidized END price after you complete your 2 year contract. The phone is broken down into installation payments over 2 years so you don't pay upfront.

The end price depends on which plan you sign up for.

For example, iPhone 4 - 16GB

Factory Price - 814k

With I-Value (55k per month) End price - 211k
With I-Medium (65k per month) End Price - 134k
with I-Special (79k per month) End price - 52k
With I-Premium (95k per month) End price - 0.
(these end prices are from memory and may be a few 전원 off).

So divide that end price by 24 and add it to your bill (55k,65k, ETC) add 10% VAT to that and you can calculate your total monthly bill.

So in essence, It can be cheaper to get an iPhone 4 here if you plan on staying the entire 2 years.

Awesome breakdown! But im alil confused.

All those plans are for 2 yrs right? Im trying to grasp my head around how the end price of the 95k monthly plan is 0 when compared to the 55k plan. Wouldnt you just take the difference of those plans and that would technically be what your paying for the phone?

Im gonna be in Korea for 2 yrs. Well im taking a 1-2 month break and going to South America in between those 2 yrs. So im trying to figure out which plan would be the best price/value wise for me to get.

So much misinformation here it's silly. There's a thread about all of this in the technology forum. You can do a one year contract, but it's more costly. I'm on a two year contract and pay 85k a month after taxes, insurance, etc. Just go to one of the international KT stores, such as in Gwanghwamun, and they can take you through it. Super easy.
