I'm curious how people get to their hotel when they book online for hotels in Bangkok. I've been there a few times so I know my way around now, but my girlfriend (Korean) is going with her sister this summer, and having never been there before, I'm just wondering how I should tell her to go about finding the hotel she booked (as showing the address written in Roman characters doesn't work). Are the tourist information booths at the airport helpful in terms of translating hotel addresses?

Thanks.

Yes they are very helpful. The main tourist info booth has a couple of free computers with skype installed and headsets too.

TAT has a booth between exit doors 3 and 4 and they are pretty good at things like that. They also have 2 computers for public use so people can access their email to get addresses and phone numbers, etc. if they need to.

Additionally, most decent hotels will either have a pick-up van of their own or a pick up service that is affordable (the same as or less than airport taxis - and load at door 6).

Depending on where they are going and what time they arrive there is also the option of taking the red-line (airport skytrain) into the city and connecting to the BTS or catching a cab from there to the hotel (cheaper than a cab from the airport).
