This story is getting picked up globally...I give us maybe 36-48 hours tops before this is everywhere.

While the young man has a nice voice, I can't help but smell a rat. This isn't funtwo with his webcam. He better not have lied about being homeless (which I think might be the lie) Having gotten H.S. Arts training is fine and all...still seems there's more to this....

After sleeping in toilets I bet it was he that was 'touched' Twisted Evil

I don't think he's all that good, but if his story is true then he deserves a good singing career.....afterall, he's got 10 times more natural talent than 90% of K-pop singers.

I call major B.S. on that story... just seems too unreal. Ever since Paul Potts, all these "____ Got Talent" shows have tried to copy this formula. Even on America's Got Talent, they got a fat black guy to sing Nessun Dorma...

Crazy story. I'm not a big fan of his singing, but if true, that story is a heartbreaker.

The way the Korean netizens pounce on everything, I say that this story IS true cause if it isn't he can be assured that the B.S. will come out of the story if he is lying and he will be crucified.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say I hope he gains some success from this show. Good on him.

I find the host to be a complete b!tch / 나쁜 년. Watch around 1:08. After the kid said that he was a manual laborer, she laughed. The people in the audience who laughed should be ashamed, too.

I found that part despicable too.

I am pretty skeptical myself. He just does not have that hardened look someone living on the streets would have.

Regardless, I agree that that host is a major b. Even before she laughed, that comment about not being able to tell what he does for a living from his appearance-what's up with that?

These hosts are informed of the backgrounds of the participants. Looks as if she was setting the scene for the impact of his story.

Ah yes. Patronise or infantilise anyone with less wealth.

Lower social status also means you must talk with a lisp like a 6 year old, so as not to appear threatening to your superiors.

Job, age, marital status, university education are all necesarry initial information to help a Korean decide wether they want to know you or not.

Saw this a few days ago and I agree with a few of the other posters above; it was terrible when the audience and host laughed when he said that he had a 3D job.

The reason they laughed is because he used a more slangie version of the term manual laborer, a term most would not use when speaking to large groups of people. It was not because he was a manual laborer.

The term he used I believe closely means 'working stiff who catches the day', which means he works in the early morning. It's not a term you'd normally use in a situation like that.

In Korea entertainers are traditionally part of the lower social class. The potential of money has made it slightly acceptable these days, if you make it big.
