I saw an article the other day on CNN Money with the ridiculous headline "Pop the Cork! Dow ends year up 11%." Here's a link to it: http://money.cnn.com/2010/12/31/markets/markets_newyork/index.htm

You can sell your stock now and buy less of the following than you could've bought a year ago:

Palladium, which went up 96% in 2010

Cotton, which went up 92%

Silver, which went up 84%

Corn, which went up 52%

Wheat, which went up 47%

Soybeans, which went up 35%

Gold, which went up 31%

Copper, which went up 30%

Oil, which went up 15%

and tons of other commodities.

However, the stock market did hold its value better than natural gas.

" But over the next 12 to 18 months I expect to see Dow 20,000."

Wow, even I'm skeptical.

Ha, I was wondering if you'd remember this. So you think the Dow will go past 14,000 this year huh? Ha, well that's a lot of faith you have in the stock market. Sure, I'll take double or nothing on that one.

I do expect a good year for the stock market, but honestly, I'm not at all confident that the Dow will hit a new high. That would be a return of around 23%. I think that is possible but a real stretch. Realistically 10-15% seems more likely. But since it's double or nothing, I really can't lose anything and I don't mind giving you a real good chance to win your money back. If the Dow actually does hit its high, well that's another story.

So how are you feeling about your prediction now? I honestly haven't been paying attention to the stock market at all this year.

Hey right-wingers, I guess now that the stock market is on fire it's because of Obama, right (Well maybe the 1.2 trillion in spending)? Because when the stock market was going down, you guys sure did blame him for it. Rolling Eyes

Maybe the dems know what they are doing. Exclamation

We've had a super bull run these past two years. It's hit the wall now, and all the easy money has been made (or made back after it was lost the year before).
