Through research I've found that afterschool programs in public schools are run by private companies, but these companies are really hard to track down! I managed to come across a short list of companies a while ago but couldn't track down contact info for them (other than KASE) and can't find the list again!

I'm looking into the possibility of staying for another year, starting my new contract at the end of August, and would love to start getting my resume out there as soon as possible!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

It's basically impossible to contact them, occasionally you might see a posting on Dave's or Worknplay, but for the most part it's blind luck. It's good that you're already in the country, because 90% of them only hire people currently in Korea. Just make sure you have all the docs you need, which is of paramount importance. Start checking every day, multiple times. They only appear very short periods of time before they start, and they usually get eaten up pretty quick. Good luck!

They tend to recruit themselves, not via recruiters.

They hire around March or September like the PS jobs....you missed it this season Confused

They get gobbled up pretty quickly.

Avoid Win Education (AKA Edu Up/Edu Best)....they're pretty well known for the double bank book scams.

Teachers are paid into the first bank account, which the recruiter/company/unscrupulous dude takes out a portion each month, then deposits the rest into the second account (which the teacher has) and tells him it's his pay

teacher gets less than they should and is never the wiser

I know what the double bank booking scams are, and my co certainly does not do that. I meant what do you mean by the after school reputation?

Are you referring to these scams or these scams and other things? I happen to really like my after school program, and it will blow any hagwon out of the water any day.

Saw this just today. I felt strongly about a few issues that came up in the article, but I'm not going to comment on it either way, just sharing a link in response to the question about after-school companies' reputations.
