Wait, which is it? Are the cops scumbags who had to submit in the face of brave protestors? Or did the cops judiciously decide that, hey, maybe a body slam intervention isn't a proportional response, so let them get it out of their system.

Visitorq votes A, I vote B.

Of course its B. How can the cops be scumbags for adjusting to the situation and acting leniently?

Those cops were afraid of the attention, as their jobs were on the line (just covering their own asses). Basically they're low IQ types who get off on bullying people. They're tough when the cameras are off and they outnumber their victims, but whenever we show up en masse they get scared. Perhaps they could have sent a riot squad to Jefferson Memorial, but just think of all the negative attention that would have drawn. Instead they let the dancers get away with it (no arrests were made).

There are good law-abiding cops out there, but increasingly more and more of them are just power-tripping filth who deserve no respect at all. They are not our "authorities", they are public servants.
