Howdy Folks,

I am getting closer to my move time (June 29th). I am moving to Seoul.

I have many hobbies and activities that I like to indulge in.One of them is table top wargaming. I like to play with the miniatures and paint them. Are there any of you guys that play? Is it even worth bringing my stuff?

Thanks for yalls help

Do you paint the metal figures like Orc's Goblins Elves. I used to do that in the eighties I've still got lots of LOR charachers. Plus I'm into The Battle of Waterloo. Is it kind of a diorama wargame? Sounds cool. You can't get the figures here.

I left all my stuff at home but if you get here and are looking for someone to play with, I'm always down for some games. I prefer more traditional games like Settlers of Catan, Blokus, Descent, games like that but I've played 40k for a while and just got out of it before I left.

Orctown is basically the place to go. However I've always been a little peeved that they just never opted to carry TCGs.

Do you know any place with an active TCG crowd? I used to play a lot. Been to a few national championships. IMO the games that are out right now are not very exciting. I've been waiting patently for a new game to come out that will pick up. Not sure if the day of TCGs are over though. At the moment I feel like the only ones that are still around to any degree are Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and maybe Magic. Dominion is a great replacement but it's completely impractical for tournaments so you could never really compete. I still used to play a lot online before I came to Korea. If anyone knows how to play or wants to learn, let me know.

Just wanted to drop in and say that I think this stuff is awesome. Not so much the gaming, but the fact that you guys are doing it. Finding ways to keep your hobbies going is a great way to make your time in Korea the best it can be. I'm also amazed that there is so much interest in such niche hobbies, but then again, I was similarly surprised at the length of the "Magic: The Gathering" thread.
