Sorry, you're right this was a good thread and yes Big Rock has some decent beer for the ROK. It's also a nice bar with Ok food etc.

Actually I was in Lotte Mart in Jamsil last weekend and they had an offer on a German beer at 6 for 9,700 Won. It was pretty good. Big cans with a wheat beer option as well. Sorry the brand name escapes me.

Thanks for twisting my statement into something else and even including a snarky comment!

If I'm on a two bottle limit to make it through customs I'm leaning towards Honey Orange Wheat and a Double Dead Guy. I'll probably change my mind a half dozen times in the next few weeks though. If I'm really lucky I'll find a way to have someone send me a bottle of The Abyss during the winter months.

You can bring a whole bunch of beer through customs (I know the limit on wine is two bottles, so extend that same quantity of alcohol to beer).

The average size of a wine bottle is 750ml, and the beers I'm going to bring are at least 22oz which is about 650ml. So unless northway is referring to the alcohol content and not the volume of liquid, I think my limit is about two bottles. If it is based on alcohol content then I could probably get at least three or maybe four. A real beer every four months? I'm stoked!

Korean beer has made this guy so mental he's importing it to Canada thinking it will do well.

"I think all Canadians looking for a good quality, crisp-tasting beer will also really enjoy it."
Nah, we already have our own mass-produced swill called Molson Canadian.

After working as an executive in Korea for a major international brewing company, Hwang was pleased to see the variety of beers available in Canada when he moved his family to PoMo seven years ago. Despite the expansive selection, however, he failed to find a suitable substitute for his favourite brand, Cass, from his native Korea.
"Cass beer is currently the top-selling beer in Korea but not only Koreans in Canada will be happy to see [it] on the shelves, I think all Canadians looking for a good quality, crisp-tasting beer will also really enjoy it."

A Cass is the last thing I want to see if I go abroad. That and a Korean Christian trying to convert everyone in a public place.

That Hwang fella clearly failed to do his homework. Just by asking the foreigners in Korea, he could quickly established the fact Cass isn't exactly considered to be premium beer.
Another example of "Korea number one-uh. Fighting!".

It doesn't matter how good or bad the beer is, though. The Korean population will still buy it. Hopefully (for that guy), the Korean population there is large enough. Hopefully (for the rest of us), the Korean population there is actually small.
