Not that I don't think is is terribly immature, but I think s/he does win this.

Anyway, the real reason I'm posting is to say that I want to someday cycle around the perimeter of Korea (and go inland a bit) over vacation. Is that kind of thing really hard to do or are there roads that cyclists can take (i.e. I know cyclists can't take the highways, nor do I want to)?

I'm living on the east coast and bought a bicycle in March.Haven't really ridden in over 20 years so a bit wary but have been pleasantly surprised that most drivers seem to be more aware of cyclists on the country roads. This could be due to the older Koreans in country towns who use bikes a lot for day to day getting around. Also I see a lot of serious riders at weekends, both singly and in groups, tearing along. They always say hello and sometimes stop for a chat.In that respect it's a bit like the caravan/camping and boating communities in the UK and on the continent - very friendly.
Go for it as it's marvelous riding along the coast and pausing at a totally deserted beach for a dip to cool off. Also cycling up some of the river valleys is really nice.

Also, my buddy got a road atlas of korea. It was great for getting where we wanted. Google maps or bing maps doesn't show all the roads.
