bump
I'm going back to the US soon, so I'm wondering if anyone has any new ideas. Here's what I'm thinking so far:
hanji (the special paper from Jeonju that's unique to Korea and used for everything from room partitions to handkerchiefs)
chopsticks and spoons (if I can find some really authentic-looking ones)
sesame/perilla/sunflower/pumpkin seed candy
teas (five-flavor, pine nut)
Also, does anyone know where I can get souvenir items more cheaply than in Insadong?

| I'm taking back metal chopsticks and my diary of all of the chaos and stupidity that I experienced here. |

That seaweed sheet stuff is the 'gim', brainiac. The white stuff inside is the 'bap'.
I'm sorry, but you lived here for more than a couple weeks? How does this info escape you? |
Considering how many different types of "gim" there are, I'd say "anyway" did a fair job of explaining exactly what kind he/she meant. And did it without being rude or condescending. |
You're right. |
Where did anybody say they didn't know what kim was? You sometimes come across as a strange, horrible old man in your posts. |
