It is only slightly more straining then calling for "closing of departments" and firing "public employees" with no detail

^ OK, now we're getting somewhere. Now you can quote who said what, and maybe add your own PoV, and you'll be off and running.

When making a call for the necessity of institutional limits on the size of government, it is much more responsible to do so without reference to the actual composition of the remaining budgetary line items. It is obvious to anyone but the most obtuse that such institutional limits would require closing departments, capping wages and dismissal of public employees. Although one might have preferences as to which departments, line items and employees remain and as to the final levels of benefits and cash remuneration, it is essential to obtain agreement and implement the institutional limits in advance of that allocation debate, as the debate itself will engender competition and hostility among the constituent groups of special interests - of which the pressure exerted by the public employees themselves constitutes the largest, greediest and most self-serving of all - currently suckling at the teet of Uncle Sam.

Such premature debate over access and allocations to government's feeding troughs will inevitably result in the failure of the electorate to limit and control the size of government, which is the intent of the fakir's call, and it is that irresponsible call for detail in advance, and the insidious, lipsmacking chorus from the suckling classes which have heretofore prevented the imposition of critically essential limitations on the size and scope of govenment without which the economy, the nation, and the government itself will inexorably continue to their final gasping, grasping days of existence. Without the impostion of drastic constitutional limitations as to the size and scope of government, and contemporaneous limits on the sources and levels of resources extracted from the free, private citizenry, the current institutional structures will soon drown in the stinking seas of muck, corruption and debt shich have been created by the unmitigated greed of the ruling socialist, political classes.

Yes, I love how the GOP run massive deficits under Reagan and Dubya then suddenly morph into fiscal conservatives and deficit hawks while in opposition. And why have they become deficit hawks now? Because they know that by opposing any real attempts to stimulate the economy will keep the economy depressed, reflect badly on Obama and give them a better chance of being elected in 2010.

Watching the debate on CNN the other day was frightening. There is not one person in that field who would do anything positive for the country or the world.

The only person with credibility was Ron Paul. Watch the video of his highlights on Yuotube. Count the number of times he launched his criticisms against the way the country has been going for the past ten years.

I'm sure a lot of people in the audience didn't catch on. But he was basically saying that there has been little difference (in terms of the economy, at least) in the way Republicans and Democrats have acted while in office.

Now all the GOP candidates can think of is ways of making the wealthy even wealthier.

100 year ago my great-grandfathers came to America for a better opportunity; I'll do the same for mine.

Jumping ship. If it weren't family, would have done it years ago, permanently.
