Check the clothing out. Especially if younger kids. They seem to wear the same clothes day in and day out. I taught a group of high school boys one summer and the funk they put out was amazing. Good group of kids though.
I asked my Korean wife about the hygine of students here and she confirmed that it is pretty normal for students to wear their uniforms/clothes for a week or more without washing.
I must also admit that EVERYTHING stank my first month or two here. Now everything stinks when I go back home in the states.
Just my opinions here. No real answer.

I learned that you can smell a cavity from my kids. I was always wondering what that strange really sharp BO smell was coming from some of my smaller kids, and then I put two and two together. Some of them have really scary black holes throughout their teeth, too. Luckily they're only baby teeth.

My kids generally smell ok though. Until one lets loose a vile old man fart. Still don't know how their little bodies can put out such a noxious smell...

I loled.

Kid stink is one of the top five reasons to hate the Korean summer.

Teaching a class right after they have PE sucks

To be fair though, it's not like adults here are very conscious of their smell. One thing I miss about home is women between the ages of 18-menopause always seem to smell nice. Here even the hottest women I work with just smell of nothing. Not fruity hair products, not perfume... nothing Crying or Very sad
