Its good for two years tops, then if you're staying longer you'll be looking for somewhere that offers a bit more, i.e. Seoul.

And +1 for staying away from the Holy Grill. Over-priced, substandard muck. Good name though.

Daegu has authentic / foreign run:

- Indian
- Nepalese
- Pakistani
- Indonesian
- Turkish
- Uzbeki
- Thai
- Vietnamese
- Italian
- Mexican
- French
- Western Brunch

Resurrecting this old post because I need to know where all this is! Downtown? I found the indian/pakistani markets by the buk-gu bus terminal, and obviously italian is everywhere, but the others?

Indian/nepalese- downtown are a couple, one is near mcdonalds. Others are in bukmun.
paki- near bukbu bus terminal
turkish- new Star Kabab downtown near urban
Thai ??
Uzbeki Downtown inbetween Jungangro and deagu stations, into the shopping area a bit i believe.
Vietnamese- DT near the circle fountain. also Phoviet21 near bukmoon
Italina. Everywhere
Mexican-Caliente is really good. near samduk sabungso (otherside)
French -Past benigans and into a little alley. The door is on the left. The guy studied cooking in france

indian - near seusong mot (across from the big airplane rest) named ganja; also, the one right at kyungdai bukmoon has just been revamped and makes an ace korma; at beomuh junction, right behind the dunkin donuts there's a cheaper, but great indian named sweet india; also, right at the sam-duk-so-bang-so crosswalk there's a little, cheap indian

thai - best thai is down at seusong mot at xin chois (i think this is the name) it's vietnamese and thai... great noodles... a little pricey, but they also have a good cocktail club in the basement with djs who spin vinyl

mexican - caliente is ok, but i still think leo chow's downtown in a little alley off of cell phone street is the best... plus if you go with a friend, you can order some mexican AND western style chinese food... a burrito order gives you two burritos and the atmosphere is eclectic and cozy
italian - the best italian is carlos... it's in jisan-dong near the smaller donga dept store...

sandwiches - quiznos has opened! it's downtown on the street to the right of kyobo (the street that only busses are allowed on and has the little stream) walking toward banwoldong...

best sam gyup sal is at "what" down an alley off of rodeo street downtown... you get a choice of seasoning which isn't usually offered with sam gyup sal

my favorite all time place in daegu to eat is hami mami's... it's near camp walker and is great for an american style breakfast... it's the only place i've seen biscuits and gravy served...

the new paris baguette that opened under the huge new gym downtown is great too... maybe some of the best salads to go that there are in daegu...

home plus has the most foreign groceries (tesco = english brand)...

let me know if you find limes... 4 years here and i've only seen them once from south street philly...

what's up with that? why no limes?
