| I had one of these and it worked great. I was using it for 5.1 audio looong before HDMI came into play. They have a COAX digital out, too, if memory serves. Nice way to get better sound out of an older machine. |

Indeed it does-- also optical digital out. The little white plug in the picture is an optical adapter that fits into the headphone jack.
