when my k gf can't finish her meal, sometimes i'm delighted because i get to finish it for her!!! i must look like a pig to koreans.

when i was at her parents house, she couldn't finish her soup so i finished it for her and they felt so bad for me that she would let me finish off her soup.

I've decided that being fat in Korea is awesome. I know that Koreans will already assume I'm a pig, so I eat whatever the hell I want. And I don't speak Korean well enough for them to lecture me on it. A guy tried to once, I pretended I didn't understand what he was saying.

I often eat out with this one Korean dude I met, and he always makes sure to eat the penultimate piece, leaving the last piece for me. Which I'm fine with.

Sorry, just nitpicking here. Carry on your lively debate.

There are large stretches of rural and urban America that are like a third world country even today.

This is such a non-issue. Five years plus in Korea and I never heard of or thought of this once.

OP, less time thinking, more time enjoying life.

Throwing out food is wasteful, but so is eating food if you don't enjoy it or aren't hungry. Then it's both wasteful and waist-ful. ^^

decolyon: I always drink diet if I splurge on junk food. It's like 200 calories. Why waste 200 calories on something if you can't taste the difference? I don't get why people complain about this. :/

If you're already having the big mac and fries you're getting more calories in a single meal than you should get all day. So why save it? If you're going to eat crap, go all out.

It's like saying "I'm going to eat this cow poo, but I'm not going to drink the piss. That'd just be gross."

This is something I've seen in guide books but never in person, and that's after having been in a couple long-term relationships with Korean girls, as well as staying with a Korean family for a month.

Based on the amount of food thrown in that container that collects food in my school's cafeteria, I'd say cleaning your plate of all the food is a thing of the past.

You are a little bit off.

Big Mac 490Kcal
(M) Fries 380Kcal
(L) Fries 500Kcal

So that makes it approximately 1,000Kcal. But the average large male can eat upto 3,000Kcal in a day as long as they get some regular exercise.

Adding a cola to each meal would add an extra 500Kcal in that day and so it WOULD make a difference.

You're absurd. If we're making faulty analogies, it would be like saying "Well I'm already driving to the store, why bother walking when I can just use a scooter?"

Personally, I still limit my cheat days to maybe 1600 calories, so I would much rather the 200 calories for a couple cookies and a black coffee or a milkbar for dessert than a cup of sugar water with my meal. But I consider diet soda a treat anyway.

3k is far too much. Large men should eat about 2,500. Even with regular exercise, that's just going to maintain body weight.

I can tell you have no idea what you're talking about. Cheat days at 1600?? Unless you're a 30kg small Asian woman, that doesn't make any sense.

Cheating implies you're having more than you would normally have. So if 1600 is a cheat day, then what's an average day, 1,000? That's not enough, regardless of gender or size. Even slim women get 1500 a day just to stay thin and not lose more.

I do know what I'm talking about with this stuff.

According to your own sources: Big Mac - 576. Large fries - 610. Total, 1186. That's well more than anyone should have in one setting. Perhaps it's not more than you need in a day, but it's more than half.

As per your second graph. What I said was true. 1600 a day on a "cheat day" would only be for a small Asian woman The lowest men should eat is 1700.

Please, check your own sources before you try to correct people who know what they're talking about.
