I have booked flights to Cebu and am a bit clueless where to go from there. I dont want tob pay anymore for flights if I can help it, ferries if reasonably priced will be cool. I want to do this semi on a budget but not totally scrimping. Im not planning on diving but some beach time would be good. Also some sights and cultural stuff would be appreciated. |

Flying from Korea to Cebu means you land late at night.
Grab a room at someplace like ACE PENZIONNE or the HOTEL CESARIO (they have free airport pickup).
Grab a few hours shuteye and then go outside and grab a taxi. You want to go to PIER 1. take a ferry over to TAGILARAN (these are limited depeartures daily so ask for the schedule at the hotel desk). After you get off the ferry you will need to catch a cab out to the beach (about p300) or 1.5x the meter rate if you catch a metered cab.
Alternatively, grab a cab to pier 3 and catch a ferry to TUBIGON. These run pretty much hourly during the day and cost about 200 pesos. When you get off the ferry, walk down the pier to the bus terminal (ignore the touts and trikes unless you are carrying heavy luggage).
Look for either a bus or van (v-hire) going to Tagbilaran (100 pesos).
when you get to TAG you will need a taxi to get out to Alona beach (1.5x the meter rate - or often flat rated at about p250-300).
Lots of places ON the beach to choose from. Rates run from p1200 for a fan room ( there are a few cheaper but I wouldn't sleep in them) to p2500 for a decent air-con room. Top end in most places run p5000 and alona Palm is the most expensive at $150+ per night.
http://www.bohol.ph/article75.html gives a comprehensive listing of all the accommodation on the island (Bohol and Panglao) with contact information and in some cases web addresses. Scroll down to Panglao Island for Alona beach accommodation.

Take the ferry over to Bohol, it's super amazing, one of the prettiest places I've ever been. |

Yes for Bohol,
Even the crappyish weather didn't put me off. The amount of sex tourists did a bit though. Still, Alona is pretty cool and cheap and once there you can grab a motorbike and go where you like in Bohol. That was the best part. |
