Anyway I asked my Korean girlfriend about this and she said you guys are all morons. The OP can't be fat because all the food contains green tea and therefore makes you naturally lose calories. |
There are studies out there that show that green tea speeds up one's metabolism. |

| Phone card < Skype |
Yeah, I don't understand why anyone uses them anymore. |
Some people haven't gotten smart phones yet and want to be able to use their mobiles in a pinch? Just a guess. |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you use a phone card on your mobile, aren't you still going to use up minutes on said mobile? Minutes that are extremely expensive to use here? If we were in the States where cell phone time costs nothing, what with rollover, free intracarrier calling, and free nights and weekends, I could understand. But if you're burning your already limited minutes to call home using a phone card it seems like you're paying double for what is already a very high rate compared to Skype's prices. |

It will use the minutes on your mobile, but won't cost as much as using the mobile service provider to call internationally. They will likely just be regular minutes, instead of international minutes, which are very different. It's what I did before I got a smart phone. I used skype most of the time, but I liked having the option of calling home from my mobile if I needed to, without spending a fortune.
Smart phones make it easier, though. |

to call internationally using ONLY your cell phone minutes (and no additional fees), dial 0216884949 - hear the nice korean lady's voice, enter your country code, the number, then #
advice i got from an old chinese lady. and it works. |

| That's pretty useful. Thank you, Nukeday! I'll make a note of that on my phone, in case I ever have spotty 3g. |

I tried to make my own hummus with a mortar and pestle. I failed miserably. I still have 600g of chick peas in my cupboard.
Sojusucks also posts about cool art exhibits and events, however recently he has been focusing on food...I think it's a he. I just associate sojusucks with the avatar now. |

So to be clear....if you have a 200min. plan on your phone and you dont use all of those minutes somehow during the month, you can use them as international minutes?? If so, is 1 Korean min. the same as 1 international min.?? |

| I like reading foreign food tips. I'm not sure why everyone gets so worked up about it. It can't be jealousy, cause it's not like Itaewon is some exclusive place that only some people can visit. |

Sojusucks is helpful for those of us who like to cook. I don't see what's getting everyone's panties in a twist.
He never said he gorged. He shops for foods that he likes. Hell, I do the same. A typical day in Itaewon is fairly simiar for me, though I'll often go to a pub for a cider with my husband before heading home if it's early (meaning not full of smoke.)

Correct. And if you go over your plan (as we often do) you're just going to pay the Korean over-rate. It's basically a zero-fee international call, plain and simple. I don't have a home phone, but I can see no reason why that would not work as well. |

I like Sojusucks' posts.
If they annoy you, then why do you open a thread started by him/her?
Most of the new teachers I know here dont even bother with Dave's because they hear how negative and miserable the people can be on this site.
This thread is a great example. |
