Does anyone know if there are any clinics in Seoul (preferably English speaking) that can remove scars and moles?
I've heard that the price to get it done here is much less than the USA. Does anyone know about the costs of this? |

I'd like to know this too. I've got some warts that need to go. I'm not usually sensitive about my appearance, but these hurt whenever it rubs on clothing. |

Any hospital can handle it, no problem.
I just went to the hospital near my place and it cost me 20k for a cryo wart removal. Bit pricier than a clinic, but the hospital comes across as more professional to me (actual room with chair and table for the procedure, a nurse assisting the doctor, etc).
Friend of mine had a huge mole removed at the local hospital - same thing. Go in, pay some cash, get it removed, go home. Pretty much any hospital you go to, they will have someone who can and will speak English. |

Thanks for the info. I'm curious how the process goes, they just freeze it? Peel / cut it off and you've got a bare skin patch till it heals over? |

Warts are usually a two step process - cut and freeze. First, they'll use a scalpel blade and cut the top of it off. This CAN be painful depending on how they do it. I've had the same wart reappear three times now. First time, in the US, the doc cut the top, then sliced it up - kind of painful. Second time, here in Korea, she lopped the top off and get some healthy skin and it hurt like hell. Last time (just last week), I didn't feel a thing.
Second part is the freeze. Again, it depends on where you go. In the US, they used liquid nitrogen in a can with glass rods. Freeze the glass rods, then the doc places them on the wart, changing the rods as they warm up. Here, the doctor used liquid nitrogen in a can, sort of like a blowtorch. It hurt more, but it was a lot quicker.
You'll have a blister where the wart is. As the skin/blister dies, the wart will fall off. You'll have antibiotic creme to put on it a couple times a day for a few days, and then it'll heal up.
They can come back, especially if you rub it. I happen to have it on my right hand, just in the upper palm below the pinky. Holding chalk, it rubs the area, and I ride a bike a lot, so it has come back a few times. Frustrating, but this next week, I have an appointment for a follow up to see about cutting more out, so hopefully it will be a more permanent solution.
Anyway, it should take at most 5 minutes and it'll be pretty easy, and the pain goes away within about an hour. |

If you know where Gwanygmyeong Sarori / 관명 사거리 (Line 7) is, there's a dermatologist clinic called Cosmo - 02-2616-1004 or cosmoskin.com. The receptionists don't know any English, but one of the doctors does.
I had a wart removed on my finger. I think I paid, I don't know, maybe 20,000. They first injected the little bugger with something. Then the doctor froze it. It took about 3-4 weeks to heal. After that, no scar at all. |

I go to that dermatologist. I don't know if he does mole removal, but if not he can probably point you in the right direction. His English is native level and he studied at Johns Hopkins. |
