My friends and I are planning to open a store/hi end food mart. One of my partners is a kyopo and can get her business license very easily. She actually already has one.

With such a small business--potentially just 3 people--how hard would it be for her to basically hire us on as E7s? The other partner and I would be in charge of marketing and sales respectively, and we have relevant experience.

Note: I've been on an E7 before and know the gist of it, but that was with a Korean company that had been in business for a while.

Ummmm I have no clue Shocked

If you both are investing enough cash, there's the investor visa. Otherwise, the best thing I can think of is popping into a bar or restaurant that has legit foreigners working there and finding out what they did. Hopefully everyone around you isn't on an F visa. Confused

it all depends on the capital you and/or your partner invested in the business. mom and pop's specialty store probably ain't gonna get you e-7. best way to find out would be to contact the immigration office. good luck with your business. Razz

Unless there is NO chance of finding a Korean who can do the job you won't be getting an E7 for it (certainly not for a "small" food mart - even if it is high end.

Your best bet (if you have the cash) is the investor visa (DCool.
