|
|
I sent my cbc to the US dept of state to get it apostilled on Jun 7, one day express. So they received it on June 8.
Still waiting on getting it back. I just wanted to know if other people are in the same situation as me. Also what your wait times were.
I have passed my interview and am in the process of sending my documents to korea. I have everything except the cbc apostille. This is so frustrating waiting on this document. Anyone know the deadline for submitting your documents? It doesn't explicitly tell you other than ASAP.
Thanks in advance |

Are you talking about EPIK? My recruiter said that there's no deadline. They're going to continue accepting documents until all positions are filled. In a way, that is the deadline.
As for the apostille inquiries, I think you might want to look at this thread: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=207342
I sent mine at the end of May and is still waiting for it to come back. |

The summer months, it get busy, the dos site say 15 days for apostille but its not. In June, July, Aug., Sept., it takes like 1 month or 2 months for the apostille, including weekends. The worst part they hardly ever pick up their phone when you need them the most. Its just a frustrating experience.
If you need to meet deadlines, use apostille service agency like Apostille Pros, to expedited the apostille process.

I am in the same boat too. I sent mine two weeks ago. I was told that it takes five days to process and if you wanted it back fast that you needed to send self addressed stamped envelop too. Otherwise it would be put in with their mail that could take 2 weeks to be sent out. I sent in aself addressed stamped envelop and I still have not received it yet. For me mine is due in mid July, I think. |

I am paranoid about getting my FBI CBC back (initial background check). I sent it off may 5 and it has still not returned! Its working on 8 weeks! Is there anyway to call and actually speak to someone that can confirm the status of it?!!? |

I'd like to know this as well... I've searched the forum, but couldn't find any actual numbers.
Edit: Oh, should I just use this number? ... http://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/fbi-headquarters

I am reposting this from another thread:
FWIW: The following individual is responsible for the Bureau of Administration under which the Office of Authentications is held.
Honorable Patrick F Kennedy
The Under-Secretary for Management
US Department of State
Since Federal employment has much to do with how well one does their job I would think that Mr. Kennedy would want to know how individuals are representing their respective duties.
My guess is that if one were to call the main number for the Department of State and ask to speak with Mr. Kennedy, it would be very likely you would be put in contact with his "trouble-shooter".
Contact Information
Main address:
U.S. Department of State
2201 C Street NW
Washington, DC 20520
Main Switchboard: 202-647-4000
How bad do you want your problem solved?
Follow-up to the above:
I called the office cited above and spoke with an assistant to Mr. Kennedy,
one Ms. Kathleen Austin-Fergusen. I apprised her of the situation and she advised me that I might fax her a letter explaining my particulars and she would look into it. That FAX number is (1-202) 647-0168. Apparently they are already getting calls and letters as there seems to be a very heavy flow of such requests, though the Office of Authentication is using the same manning as before.
My own thought is that it would take next to nothing for folks on this thread to contact Ms. Austin-Fergusen and draw her attention to this situation. IMHO.
Best Wishes,
Bruce |

So pretty much the only thing we can do is to call that number until they pick up and annoy them into doing the apostille fast... great |
