I don't think it will ever happen. Between the citizens who are already against it, and the gangsters who run all of the illegal poker rooms, i would be very surprised to see this guys idea come to fruition.
However I do agree that is quite discriminatory that Korean citizens are not allowed to throw their money away like foreigners. |

I'm glad that Koreans cannot get into most casinos in Korea (there is one that admits natives in Gangwon Province). Koreans are pretty bad when it comes to gambling as they seem to be numerous in Vegas and Atlantic City and such. |

I really don't trust the casinos here. Is there a gaming commission that inspects and makes sure that everything is on the up and up? I doubt it. The dealers have tried to rip me off more times than I can count. Im not sure but I think casinos here are pretty shady. |

I'm sure the poker players would love it. To me it seems there's tons of old Korean men there anyway, not sure how they got in...their English is pretty bad so they're clearly not born/raised in an anglophone country. |

The casinos are busy enough as it is so I hope it remains the same. I was always moderately succesful on the Blackjack tables in Busan so I don't think they are any more/less crooked than any other casino |

No independant gaming commission, as the casinos have been set up by the gov't. I have witnessed the same shadiness you have alluded to on the blackjack tables in Seoul (can't speak to Busan), and one of my uni students who works as a dealer confirmed (obviously without going into detail) to me that the fix is indeed on. |

They should do what they do in Singapore, charge locals an entrance fee, say 250,000 won. Foreigners get in free. |

yea this.
the casinos are operated by the korean government...they don't really have any interest in cheating people...you don't have to in roulette/blackjack/baccarat.
as a poker player, i would love it if they started allowing koreans in to the poker room. lots of old rich terrible adjeossis there already. |

A lot of Asian men are denegerate gamblers, and will quite easily gamble away their lives. Imagine if Korean men were allowed to go to casinos - it would cause untold problems for familes. In a country where suicide rates are already sky high, soju + casino = catastrophe. |

A lot of men are degenerate gamblers, not just Koreans. Maybe it will harden Korean women's traditional control of the family purse strings.
But I think the government shouldn't budge on this one. I believe the public mostly supports the status quo. In theory if you can travel overseas to gamble, then money isn't too much an issue. It's good the way it is. |

I said Asian men (gambling is illegal in a few Asian countries), not just Korean men - but seriously, alcohol and booze is not a good combination unless you run a casino. We all know how much Korean dudes like a drink... |

I'd happily take their money at the poker table. If I could get a seat that is! |

I think it's a great thing that Koreans aren't allowed in most casinos in Korea. I recently went to the casino in Gangwon-do where Koreans are allowed and man, there is the biggest gathering of low-lifes and degenerates pumping their money into any machine they can get their hands on.
Looking for a slot machine? No chance. People reserve their machine by keeping their membership card in the machine with credits and wonder off. When you finally do get to play, your neighbor will insist that you put more money in or choose the highest stake. Since when did I ask them for their advice?
It's difficult to find a table to play at (my biggest gripe) because there's always a queue. Also, they wait about 5 - 10 minutes for each spin at the roulette table so that they can fill the table up with chips. It's just that retarded. Worst casino experience ever. The Korean people there have dead, soulless eyes. |
