You might be right about that.

1-9 or 2-10 would fit right into that.

I guess one of the good things about the Poly schools is that, at the salary of 2.7 - 2.8 and some higher, it's the best opportunity to stash some cash.

All comes down to what are you there for and what do you want to be doing with your day.

Good luck.

Actually, this sort of work atmosphere may be exactly what I'm looking for. Is there a link folks would recommend? I looked on the Job Board here and didn't see "Poly Korea Poly Schools" mentioned. Help?

Best Wishes,

Bruce

at the risk of competing with you -

http://www.morganrecruiters.com/

is who I have had contact with. I don't know their reputation and am not recommending or endorsing them.

They simply connected me with an interview at a Poly that went well.

But, I guess we're here to help each other out and if the Poly experience is your target...good luck to you.

If you don't mind, would you update this thread with your experience and how everything plays out?

That is a real help when it comes to gauging the value of a specific recruiter and ultimately, what you end up getting as a job from their contacts and efforts.

Thanks. Looking forward to hearing about your good news. Very Happy

We're actually hiring right now; we have an ad on the Korea jobs board. PM me if you're qualified and interested.

I just applied to POLY and have some questions I'd like to ask you. I can't PM yet because of the 25 post limit -- Could you PM me? Thanks!

Same situation here...I can't PM you but I would really like to ask you a couple things about the school. I would really appreciate it if you could PM me. Thank you...! Very Happy

Just a quick update: Since June 23rd.

Since that last post there have been two apps to POLY (different listings) and two apps, a phone message and an email to Morgan. No responses. FWIW.

Best Wishes,

Bruce

if you have an email address you wouldn't mind posting, I can let you know who I was dealing with. I hesitate to drop their contact info on the board.

As just a sidenote, has anyone expressed an interest directly with the "front office" of this firm concerning curriculum development? I know a lot of people are interested in securing a teaching position and I am not detracting from that. I was just wondering if anyone else has this sort of interest, thats all. Thoughts? Comments?

Best Wishes,

Bruce

Does anyone know about the Joongkye POLY campus? I understand the long work hours and since I have been teaching in the states, am comfortable with the testing and prep part of the school day. The problem I imagine is the micromanaging. I enjoy doing things my way, but also want to teach what the administration desires to be taught, which is why working within their curriculum interests me. Are there any other schools with high reputation for excellent students? What are other comparable schools in Korea, especially Seoul?

Just curious. Is Poly still paying 2.7 to 2.8? I had heard of some making over 3.0 million won. Just curious.

A recruiter gave me the info for one of the Poly Schools. Pay was listed as 2.3-2.5. I asked for clarification of the teaching hours and she sent me part of the contract... 6.7 teaching hours per day, 2.3 hours prep. I didn't apply.
