sometimes this will come up in a conversation and i'm curious about everyone else's thoughts.

red flags as in when meeting a person and they have some quirk or mannerism that you see as a red flag.

a few red flags:

(i wouldn't let my sister date a guy with these red flags)
guys with a weak handshake
guys who wear socks with sandals
guys who wear khakis with tennis shoes
guys who cut their sideburns
guys who wear gold chains

(i wouldn't date these kind of girls)
girls who say "eww" to everything
girls who wear foundation that is distinguishable from their neck color
girls who are picky eaters

I wouldn't want my sister to date any guy who thinks that they have the right or power to 'let' their sister do anything.

I wear socks with sandals pretty often these days. It comfortable and it means I can wear sandals to restaurants without having to go barefoot when I change out of them to step inside.

you probably don't care but it's such a no no.

add to that list:

guys over the age of 18 who still don't know how to tie a tie.

no tennis shoes with khakis? I had no idea. I always just thought khakis were "them tan pants."

And why do you want your sister to date a guy with burly sideburns?

I dig growing a pair of sideburns, but it tends to scare off women folk.

i'm not talking about burly sideburns. but when a guy cuts his sideburns where glass frames go across on your ear, it's no good.

How big are the sideburns?

And I must oppose your socks with sandals, it's a Korean fashion statement. Actually, considering I don't do it outside the workplace, heh.

Also add to that list:
Girls with visible, distinguishable makeup. If I can see you have makeup on then you've got TOO much makeup on. If a girl doesn't seem to have makeup on, they most likely do, it's just done properly.

Never let your sister date a guy with a weak handshake!

This thread displays some really evolved thinking!

How about this: It doesn't matter what country they're from, so long as they drink beer!

You know what I mean? Right?? Oh yeah!
