Why don't you just order it from G-market? If you don't have an account find a Korean that will buy it for you and pay them back in cash. |

There are actually a couple of IKEA stores in Korea. Not the same warehouse type deal as 'back home' however there are some. |

Those are re-sellers, right? They order the stuff from China and sell it here.
Ikea announced that it would open a store in Seoul this year, but I haven't seen any mention of when and where. |

You could try going to the 3rd floor in the Express Bus Terminal building. It's a flower market with all the associated items like pots, vases etc It has some other interesting things too. When you walk up you may come in at the side that sells fresh flowers, it looks like its closed but go in the doors and walk round to the other side, there's a lot of fake flowers but also plenty of other things being sold in amongst them. I think it's open for regular sale (not wholesale) until about 6/7pm each day.
If you don't find anything you like there, then there are some home furnishing shops here.
The cheapest one is called Modern House, I know of one in Time Square Mall and one in New Core Outlet by Express Bus Terminal and Banpo Station. They sell all kinds of home items for reasonable prices.
There's another called Franc Franc, which also has a store in Times Square Mall and one at Gangnam station (exit 5 I think). Franc franc is a bit more expensive but sells some really cool things, very funky and colorful.
Finally there's a chain of stores called Casa Mia. They have a lot of shops all over the place but the biggest I've seen is about a 10 minute walk in a straight line from Apgujeong Station exit 5. It's a more refined style, not cheap but very very pretty. |
